MATERIALS:

- 1 box (per class) of General Mill's Lucky Charms
- 1 class tally sheet for teacher to post results
Optional:
- Paper towels or some item to sort shapes on
- Ziplock bags to pre-measure amounts for each student.
As a collaborative GROUP -- we will be trying to prove that there are more ☘️ GREEN CLOVERS ☘️ (you might call them hats) than any other marshmallow shape.
As a classroom -- you might wish to create your own hypothesis to prove as well.

STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The Teacher will need to register ONLINE for this project. 🍀Click here to register!🍀
2. The Teacher will distribute Lucky Charms to their class. You are welcome to do this by separating your Lucky Charms into baggies, create a center area, or any other way you see will work within your classroom.

2. The Teacher will distribute Lucky Charms to their class. You are welcome to do this by separating your Lucky Charms into baggies, create a center area, or any other way you see will work within your classroom.
3. Each student will sort the marshmallow pieces of their Lucky Charms into
the following categories:
Clovers ☘️ (these will be the green shapes on your tally sheet)
Pots of Gold (these look like an hourglass)
Horseshoes
Shooting Stars
Moons
Rainbows
Hearts
Balloons
Other
⚠️ Every so often, Lucky Charms will throw a new shape into the mix, if this happens,
mark those shapes as "Other"
4. Students will count each marshmallow shape and write down their final count for each shape!
Students should create a graph to represent their count. You can find a downloadable graph on the Resources page.
5. The class will create a final class count by combining all student information for their Lucky Charms.
The class should also create a graph to represent the class count.
6. The Teacher will visit the RESULTS page to submit their class' results between March 14th and March 21st, 2023.
You will need to enter the class total for each shape. A certificate of participation will also be available for those
interested when you post your results.
7. Final Results will be posted by Saturday evening, March 22nd, 2024!
8. Please add your class to the Collaborative Google Slidedeck! Upload a picture or two from your project and share a
little information about your class and your experience!
